Check before taking LiVEXtra

If you are planning to take LIVEXtra for better health, keep in mind that this supplement is not for all to consume. Due to the nature of L-arginine in its content, anyone with herpes (blister-like sores),  should not take LIVEXtra. L-arginine is thought to increase the replication of viruses that cause herpes and should not be taken if you have herpes. Those with renal or hepatic failure must exercise caution when taking LIVEXtra.

It is also not advisable for people with liver or kidney diseases to take such supplements without approval from doctors. Cancer patients may take L-arginine supplements such as LIVEXtra. However, current studies are unclear as to the roles of L-arginine in fighting against cancer cells. It have been shown that this amino acid have immunomodulatory activity. This means that they can kill cancer cells indirectly through the production of other compounds such as natural killer (NK) cells. Seek for your doctor's advice when unsure of the effects on your condition.

L-arginine can increase growth hormone levels and are not recommended for children, pregnant women and nursing mothers. In general, a person aged 23 and above can take L-arginine without worries of any side effect on his growth hormone.

Contraindicate is a term for inadvisability of a medical treatment. L-arginine is contraindicated with the use of blood pressure and blood thinning medications and also in those with the rare genetic disorder argininemia. People who are hypersensitive to any component of an arginine-containing preparation should also avoid taking supplemental L-arginine.

L-arginine can be taken up to 15 grams daily for most people. Higher doses of 15 to 30 grams can cause adverse reactions such as nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
